Import Manager

Epicor Import Manager is a powerful, flexible and easy to use application that provides fast and accurate transaction gateway of importing business data into Epicor Enterprise. You can import General ledger balances and transactions, and all other major transaction types in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Distribution. Import Manager features an intuitive, graphical interface to map any ODBC compliant data source and set up translation rules for import into Epicor Enterprise.

Easy Mapping of Data from System to System Without Custom Programming
Data mapping requires that every field in the source databases must be mapped to identify a corresponding column (or columns) in the new system. This is often a time consuming task and requires a detailed understanding of both the source and destination databases. To simplify and streamline this process, Import Manager includes a system-to-system data mapping toolkit called Migrate. Migrate enables non-programmers to efficiently configure complex processes for bi-directional data exchange using a familiar spreadsheet-style interface. This allows you to easily establish a link from the originating field in the source database to the target field in Epicor Enterprise with just a few clicks. Additionally, you can get a graphical representation of the links that you have established.

Easy Conversion of Data

Each customer has unique data import requirements, and some measure of manipulation will always be involved. Before data is imported, users can manipulate data values using the Import Manager Workbench. This is extremely helpful since there might be fields which do not exist in the current database, and allows a review point to cleanse, modify or otherwise manipulate the data in some desired fashion before bringing it over to the new system.

Import Manager makes a complex task easier and more efficient by simplifying and standardizing your interface to Epicor Enterprise. Not only will Import Manager help convert your old system and get you up and running with Epicor Enterprise quickly, but it can be a valuable as an ongoing data gateway integrating other company systems. You also have the ability to export data from Epicor Enterprise to any other ODBC complaint data sources using Migrate.

Complete Validation of Data to Ensure Data Integrity

Import Manager ensures data integrity and automatically completes any missing default information, such as a customer posting code or tax code. Additionally, Import Manager will automatically perform calculations (such as tax, due dates etc.), which further increases the efficiency of the import process and also saves valuable time. The result is that all imported data is assured to be complete, and error-free. And if, there are any discrepancies, the imported data can be corrected on-line prior to final import into Epicor Enterprise.
